Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Sudanese Army calls on UAE ambassador to leave country

Khartoum – Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army, Yasser Al-Atta, called on the UAE ambassador to leave Sudan, denouncing his presence in the country so far.

He pointed to the Sudanese Sovereign Council’s directive to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to file complaints against countries that he said had committed crimes against the Sudanese nation.

This comes days after Atta attacked UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, accusing him of igniting war in the country.

“The UAE government is seeking to seize agricultural land, mineral resources and the country’s ports,” he said, adding: “Mohammed bin Zayed bought the Rapid Support Forces to implement his agenda.”

Last November, the assistant army commander condemned what he saw as UAE interventions in the Sudanese war. He said Abu Dhabi was supporting forces led by former deputy chairman of the Sovereign Council Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti) with weapons through African airports.
