UK Foreign Office Africa Minister calls on world to do more to help Sudanese

LONDON – Andrew Mitchell, Minister for Africa at the Foreign and International Development Office, called on the world to do more to help the Sudanese people, praised regional efforts and refugee response plans as a positive step, and called on both sides to the conflict to stop fighting.

Mitchell said in a video posted on platform X: “Sudan is facing a devastating famine crisis, with 700,000 children currently suffering from acute malnutrition. The efforts of @UNOCHA_Sudan, @UNHCR_Arabic and the regional refugee response plans are a positive step, but the world needs to do more to help the Sudanese people. The generals must end the fighting.
