Sudan Medical Syndicate: All health facilities in Wad Madani in Gezira state are out of service

The Sudan Medical Syndicate announced on Friday that all health facilities in the city of Wad Madani in Gezira state are out of service.
The preliminary committee of the Sudanese Medical Syndicate published a press release on the health situation in the cities of Wad Madani and Sennar, where he revealed the serious health conditions experienced by hospitals in those areas.

The statement said: “Concern is growing about the health situation in the city of Wad Madani after the closure of all health facilities in the city, putting the lives of residents at risk.

“After more than 90% of Khartoum’s hospitals were out of service, Wad Madani became a major health service hub in the country, indicating a complete and serious collapse of the health system,” the statement said.

The committee reported “the loss of two skilled medical personnel in an attack on the Rufa’a Teaching Hospital, which puts the medical sector in a state of emergency.”
The statement added:

“The city of Wad Madani has witnessed widespread looting and vandalism in its hospitals, endangering health infrastructure and hindering the provision of services to patients.”

The Rapid Support Forces issued a press statement confirming the seizure of strategic military headquarters in Gezira state without resistance from the Sudanese army.
Local sources in the city of Hassahisa, about 40 kilometers from the city of Wad Madani, reported that the Rapid Support Forces took control of the police military headquarters without resistance from the army.
