Local newspapers quoted diplomatic sources who revealed that the State of South Sudan invited Sudanese, international and regional political parties to attend a meeting in the capital of the Republic of South Sudan, Juba, from October 21 to October 23, with the aim of discussing how to stop the war in Sudan and return to the democratic track.
The Sudanese newspaper Al-Mashhad reported that the invitation was extended to the Sudanese civil parties, including the Forces of Freedom and Change – the Central Council, the Democratic Bloc, the Resistance Committees and other Sudanese political parties.
It is also expected that a group of political and revolutionary forces and armed movements, including the Alliance of Freedom and Change Forces – the Central Council – in late October, will announce a common vision to form a broad civil front to combat the war and restore stability in the country.
The war in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces entered its seventh month after it broke out in mid-April, leaving a very bad humanitarian situation represented by millions of displaced people, refugees and thousands of victims, in addition to a number of public and private institutions and citizens’ homes, and the deterioration of the economy and the service sector.
