Khartoum- Al-Yurae-(DPA)-The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced that they repelled a Sudanese army offensive in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, seizing new camps and capturing hundreds of its members. This came in a statement issued by the spokesman for the Rapid Support Forces on Facebook on Sunday.
“The arms of the former regime and the remnants of the putschists continued in desperate attempts to attack our forces in a number of axes in the cities of the capital, Khartoum, and the response of (Ashwas-our hero’s) was harsh by destroying the aggressors and seizing new camps and large numbers of equipment amounting to more than 70 vehicles and capturing hundreds of putschist forces in the east of the Nile,” the statement said.
He added, “Our forces in the east of the Nile confronted on a mobile the putschists and remnants of the old regime, and were able to defeat it and the surrender of large numbers of the attacking force and the flight of others,” and continued, “Burhan militia coup and their supporters from the former regime and extremists, attacked our forces near the Al-Rowad complex in Khartoum and the attacking force was completely destroyed and the receipt of 5 tanks and the burning of two tanks.” The statement continued, “Our forces bravely thwarted the attempts of the putschists to move towards the Halfaya Bridge, where the (Ashaws) seized 15 vehicles with full equipment and the escape of the remnants forces, “Our forces have tightened the siege of the putschists inside the armoured vehicles from all directions and there is no way for them but to surrender,” the statement said.
Sudan has been witnessing fighting between the Sudanese army led by Sovereignty Council President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti) since the fifteenth of April.
