Saudi diplomat: Warring factions to resume talks tomorrow, Riyadh invites Burhan to attend the Arab summit

RIYADH (Reuters) – Representatives from both sides in Sudan will resume talks on Sunday on how to implement plans for humanitarian aid delivery and troop withdrawal from civilian areas, a senior Saudi diplomat said.

The diplomat said on Saturday the two sides would remain in the Saudi Red Sea city of Jeddah to begin the next phase of negotiations after agreeing on Thursday on a plan to protect civilians.

The kingdom also invited Sudan’s sovereign council chairman, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to an Arab League summit in Jeddah on May 19.
