Al-Yurae-The official spokesman for the ongoing political process in Sudan, Khaled Omar, announced that the civilian and military parties signing the framework agreement will set early April as the date for signing the final agreement.
He said during a press conference at the Sudan News Agency that the parties to the framework held two meetings on Sunday, during which they set a timetable that set arrangements and final times for the remainder of the political process.
The parties agreed to sign the transitional constitution on April 6, and to form the institutions of the transitional civilian government on April 11.
According to Omar, the meetings that ended late on Sunday, in the presence of all the signatories of the framework agreement – the Commander-in-Chief of the Army Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and his deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti), and civilian parties, facilitated by the tripartite international mechanism consisting of the United Nations, the African Union and IGAD, approved a committee to draft the final agreement, consisting of 11 members in which women are represented by 40%, starting its duties from tomorrow for a period of 7 days, provided that the draft agreement is delivered on the twenty-seventh of this month.
It is noteworthy that a group of civil organizations, most notably Freedom and Change, signed a framework agreement with the military and a number of armed movements, on December 5, on which the ongoing political process in the country was founded, which is scheduled to lead to the formation of a civilian transitional government.
