Al-Yurae- Khartoum– The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued, today, a decree to freeze the activity of trade unions, professionals’ unions, and the Sudanese Businessmen General Union.
The decree gave directives to the concerned authorities for execution, according to Sudan News Agency – SUNA.
The decision stipulates that “the membership of the committee shall be representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Attorney General, the National Audit Bureau and any person the committee deems appropriate, provided that the committee submits its procedures as soon as possible,” directing the competent authorities to put the decision into effect. The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander of the Sudanese Army, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, reiterated that “Armed Forces Will Keep Promise to Dissociate about politics, and it will work to protect the transition.”
Burhan said in a speech at an African security coordination meeting in Khartoum, “The Sudanese people look forward to a national consensus in which all political forces participate in order to reach free and fair elections.”
He stressed his “confidence that the regional coordination committee will be qualified to confront negative phenomena of extremism, terrorism and others,” explaining that “Sudan used to host refugees from various neighboring countries, and it is necessary to develop conflict resolution mechanisms.”
For his part, the Vice President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo “Hemedti”, said that “Who wants to return the country to pre-2018 is “delusional”, stressing that the military component is with change and political settlement to get Sudan out of its internal crisis.
“The demands of the protesters are legitimate, but better than protesting is to reach a solution by compromise among all and spreading justice and equality among all components of Sudanese society,” he said.
