Victims of Rapid Support attacks on Gezira state exceeded 1,000 dead, including 93 children, and 67 cases of rape

Khartoum – The number of victims from Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacks on Gezira State in central Sudan has exceeded 1,000 dead, including 93 children and 67 cases of rape, according to statistics published by the Gezira Human Rights Observatory.

300 people were killed in Rufaa city alone due to the recent wave of violence carried out by RSF forces since October 21, 2023, according to monitoring by another observatory tracking violations in the central Sudanese state called the “Gezira Conference.”

The killing of one citizen and injury of others was confirmed during an attack carried out by forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti” on Sunday morning in Rufaa.

The situation for citizens in the city is becoming more difficult day by day, with a lack of all services and spread of crime and epidemics causing hundreds of deaths.According to the Gezira Conference, two others were killed during successive attacks by the RSF on villages in Hasahisa city in Gezira State. One person was killed and others injured in the village of “Al-Shaqiyab” in rural Abu Quta.

This came after another attack on the village of “Al-Qurairib” in Hasahisa locality, where one person was killed and the attacking group looted civilian property. The number of victims from the attack on “Wad Rawa” village has risen to 8 people after one of the injured died from his wounds on Sunday in “East Bashaqra” village in East Gezira locality.The RSF attacked “Wad Rawa” last Tuesday, resulting in deaths and dozens of wounded.Gezira State has been subjected to widespread violations since the RSF invaded its capital “Wad Medani” in December 2023
