Sudanese army cuts off main RSF fuel supply line

The Sudanese army announced on Friday evening its control of the Kadro area in the city of Bahri, north of the capital Khartoum, which was a major supply line for the Rapid Support Forces with the Khartoum Petroleum Refinery (Al-Jaielly) to refuel.
The Sudanese army’s expansion of control came two days after it launched the largest military operation since the outbreak of the war in the cities of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, after crossing from Omdurman to the twin cities of Khartoum and Bahri.
The Sudanese army documented its progress with videos showing its officers and soldiers in the northern Khartoum North suburb of Khartoum North after it was declared free of the Rapid Support Forces.
The commander of the al-Kadro military region, Maj. Gen. al-Numan Awad al-Sayed, announced that al-Kadro had been cleaned of the rebellion, before stressing that “we will move forward to clean up possible pockets.”

Earlier, Sudan’s Attorney General, Maulana al-Fateh Muhammad Issa Tayfour, confirmed that “the authorities continue to pursue the leaders of the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (TAQADDUM), who were issued arrest warrants for their complicity with the rebel Rapid Support Militia.”
Tayfour said: “We will pursue Abdullah Hamdok, (former Sudanese prime minister and head of the Sudanese Civil Democratic Forces Coordination), and those with him on the list of 16 people by law and anywhere until they are arrested and tried on Sudanese soil,” according to the Sudanese News Agency.
“There is enough evidence and evidence that proves their involvement in what has been attributed to them,” he said, adding that “these proofs will be presented against them before the courts”.
General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commander of the Rapid Support Forces, stressed that “the war in Sudan has never been an option for the Rapid Support Forces,” stressing “its commitment to peace and democratic civilian rule led by real democratic forces from all regions of Sudan, especially women, youth and marginalized areas.”

In a statement published on his account on the social networking site “X”, Dagalo welcomed the high-level international attention on the Sudanese crisis, which was reflected in statements issued by the meeting of the African Peace and Security Council and US President Joe Biden, and this is the first time that Biden speaks publicly about the catastrophic situation in Sudan since the outbreak of the war.
