Port Sudan (SUNA) – Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council Lieutenant General Malik Aqar Air assured citizens in Sudan and South Sudan and partners in the oil industry of improved work in the sector, maintenance of facilities and the restoration of the South Sudan oil pipeline for export waters in the Red Sea within two months.
During his visit today to Bashaer Oil Pipelines Company in Bashayer 2 Port, he listened to an enlightenment on the ongoing treatments for the repair of the South Sudan oil carrier line, where the company confirmed the completion of the repair of the line within two months in a distance of 80 kilometers.
The deputy chairman of the sovereign council said the war had affected all sectors, but the oil sector had been able to maintain facilities and restart work to help revive the economy., accompanied by the Ministers of Interior, Culture and Information, inspected the work at Bashayer 2 Port, and expressed his happiness with the work system in the oil sector in Sudan and saluted its workers who work in compelling circumstances to preserve the facilities and the interests of the Sudanese people.
The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naim, announced that the state is working on a fast-track plan among other plans that have been discussed to restart oil facilities and have treatments in the event that the war stops or does not stop, stressing the state’s ability to lead war and peace.
He promised to address the conveyor line on time due to its role in the economy of the two countries, where the economy of South Sudan depends on it by 100% and the economy of Sudan by 10%.
He expressed his satisfaction with the MP’s visit to the port and the pipeline company and his follow-up to the continuous treatments of malfunctions in the South Sudan oil pipeline.
For his part, the Director of Bashayer Company, Eng. Ibrahim Adam, reviewed the current situation in relation to the South Oil Carrier Line and the challenges and said that the remaining distance from the maintenance of the line is 80 kilometers, which is from station 13 to Jabal um Ali, and stressed that the treatment and maintenance of 400 km of the line, which is 1131 km and passes through the states of the White Nile, Khartoum, the Nile River and the Red Sea, has been completed.
