140 suspected cases of cholera in Sennar state

Sinja – (SUNA) – Suspected cases of cholera in Sennar state have risen to (140) cases, including (129 cases) who have fully recovered, (5) cases of death, and (6) cases in isolation centers, including (4) transient cases from the city of Al-Qatina.

Ms. Mawaheb Qesm Allah Al-Amin, Director of Emergency Management and Epidemic Response at the Ministry of Health in Sennar State, explained that the health emergency team is investigating, examining cases and training cadres on the treatment protocol, adding that supply has been provided, counting contacts and following them up, and Mawaheb valued the role of the World Health Organization and its follow-up with them.

The representative of the World Health Organization, Mohamed Ibrahim, indicated that they will continue their partnership with the Ministry of Health Sennar, especially in the health emergency situation.

It is noteworthy that the Department of Emergency and Epidemic Response and the competent departments have made strong interventions in the Rayat area of Sinja locality.
