Al-Yurar-Alquds London- The resistance committees of the Al-Fitihab area, west of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, warned that the rapid support is besieging more than 100,000 residents of the area and preventing the entry of food and medicine in light of the complete interruption of electricity and water services in the area.

This comes at a time of escalating urban warfare between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the Sudanese capital Khartoum and the Darfur region in addition to other areas, while civilians live in a very complex humanitarian situation. Meanwhile, Sudanese civilian forces called on the parties to the fighting that has raged in the country since mid-April to assume their responsibility towards the Sudanese and immediately stop the war.

In the besieged area of Al-Fitihab, west of the capital Khartoum, the resistance committees called on the army to open safe corridors for the passage of food and medicine to the area, through the military garrison of the Corps of Engineers – near the neighborhood – noting that many besieged families in the area did not taste food for three consecutive days.

Besieging Al-Fatihab neighborhood

According to the resistance committees, civilian homes in the area are constantly bombed, killing many residents of the area, mostly women and children.
The committees called on support to stop starving civilians as a method of warfare and to stop targeting civilian homes with artillery shells, calling on international, regional and local associations and organizations to urgently provide food aid and medicines to the people of Al-Fatihab.
It stressed that if these demands are not met, the resistance committees will work with the people of the region to take escalatory steps to protect the citizens of the region from the danger posed by this siege.

Citizens reported that they are facing a real ordeal after running out of goods from the area’s only market, which has been facing repeated shelling and attack during battles between the army and the RSF, while death claims the lives of the elderly and people with chronic diseases and the shelves of the only pharmacy are almost empty of medicines.
He pointed out that electricity services have been cut off from the area for more than a week after the power station was bombed, while the area has been suffering from water services interruptions for four months.
