Al-Yurae – (Agencies) and (Local newspapers) – Violent clashes continued between the army and the Rapid Support in the Burri area and other areas in Khartoum, while the RSF continues to besiege the armored corps and target the General Command.
Eyewitnesses said that the army fired artillery shells from the Wadi Saidna military base, north of Omdurman, targeting “rapid support” sites in different areas of Khartoum.
According to local sources, heavy artillery shelling was heard in the far south of the capital Khartoum, while the Rapid Support Forces responded with similar shelling on neighborhoods east of the city.
Residents said Sudanese army planes carried out airstrikes on “rapid support” positions in the Taif district and other locations near the Manshiya bridge linking Khartoum to the East Nile region.
Armed clashes also erupted between Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum on Monday evening, witnesses said.
Witnesses said the clashes lasted for several hours in the Burri area, east of the capital, and that they led to deaths and injuries on both sides.
Shells also fell in Omdurman Al-Thawra neighborhood , which led to a number of injuries among citizens and one death. as a result of indiscriminate shelling on the Karary locality in Omdurman.
For its part, the Ombada al-Sabeel neighborhood gathering in Omdurman stated that the Rapid Support Forces have been arresting 18 people from the neighborhood since last Saturday.
It explained in a press circular that the arrests affected a large group of young people , and they were taken to an unknown destination.
The gathering held the RSF responsible for the security and safety of the civilian detainees and called for their immediate release.
The United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, said in a press statement Sunday that the death toll reached 9,000, the number of displaced from their homes reached more than 5.6 million, and there are 25 million in need of humanitarian assistance. “The war has plunged Sudan into one of the worst nightmares of the humanitarian situation in modern history,” he said, noting that bloodshed and violence continue, and that horrific reports of rape and sexual violence do not stop, at a time when clashes along ethnic lines are increasing, especially in Darfur.
