Cairo: The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced on Sunday full control of the command of a brigade in South Darfur state.
This came in a statement by the RSF spokesman’s office on Facebook on Sunday.
“Today, Sunday, the Rapid Support Forces achieved a new victory over the Burhan coup militia and the remnants of the former regime by taking full control of the command of the 61st Brigade in the city of Kass in South Darfur state,” the statement said.
“The RSF seized 13 fully equipped combat vehicles, 70 cannons of various types, captured the commander of the 61st Brigade with the rank of colonel, and 30 members of the force with different ranks,” the statement went on to say .
“Today’s victory comes in addition to the victories of the (Ashaws) on all battlefronts, and to the defeats of the putschists and remnants and the failure of their plans to seize power in the country and restore their hateful rule,” it said.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Wednesday that more than 3 million people had been displaced by clashes between the two sides of the conflict.
