Al-Yurae-According to many reports received from eyewitnesses in the Sudanese capital and on social networking sites on Monday, fierce battles between the Sudanese army forces and the “Rapid Support Forces” extended to new areas for the first time north of the capital in the city of Omdurman.
Local sources reported battles reached Al-Wadi Street in Omdurman and continued in Khartoum round Al-Moaskrat camps and the areas of Al-Firdous and Al-Bulabil in Khartoum.
Those areas witnessed exchanges of artillery shells with unspecified trajectories, and gunfire was heard on Sitteen Street in the capital.
The Sudanese army forces announced that they conducted “extensive combing operations in the areas of Rumaila and Abu Hamama around the Shajara area, the Halfaya Bridge area, the Khartoum Bahri locality and the East Nile locality,” according to a statement.
