Khartoum, Al-Yurae – (SUNA) – The Khartoum State Water Authority, in a statement issued Saturday, denounced the occupation of the Soba Water Station by the Rapid Support Forces and the arrest of its employees, and the occupation of the Muqrin Water Station and refusing to allow electricity maintenance work, noting that most of the citizens who left Bahri locality were due to water cuts.
The Khartoum State Water Authority added that despite the fact that all truce agreements stipulated the departure of RSF militia forces from the water stations, they flouted all agreements and continued to occupy the water stations and expose their workers to the risk of death.
The statement went on to say “After occupying the Bahri and Bayt Al-Mal water stations, which means that the services of 4 main stations depend on large parts of the neighborhoods of Khartoum State, the Water Authority and the Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company have so far failed to enter the Bahri water station to carry out electricity maintenance work, knowing that most of the citizens who left Bahri locality were due to water cuts. Although all the armistice agreements stipulated the exit of the Rapid Support Forces from the water stations, the Rapid Support ignored all the agreements and continued to occupy the water stations and expose their workers to the risk of death.
The statement added that the drinking water stations in Khartoum state remained targets of the occupation by the RSF militiamen, in addition to arresting their workers, stressing the cessation of water supply to the citizen, which exacerbates his already crisis situation.
