Abyei Dinka’s Council Welcomes Khartoum Meetings to Reach Final Solution

 Khartoum- (SUNA) – The Supreme Council for the Coordination of Dinka Ngok Affairs in Sudan, welcomed the meetings held on April 9-10, at  Al Salam Rotana Hotel , by the two Presidential Committees for the Abyei area, such as the Sudan’s Higher Committee for Political and Administrative Oversight of Abyei area, headed by the Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo and the South Sudan’s High Committee for the final resolution on the Abyei issue, led by the South Sudan’s presidential advisor on security affairs,Tut Gatluak Manime, to consider issues of Abyei Area and its future issues.

The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Abyei Dinka for Political Affairs in Sudan and the official spokesman of the Council, Manyang Eli Miay, said in a statement to SUNA ,that the continuation of meetings between the two sides would contribute to enhancing security and stability in the region, stressing their support for any serious move by the governments of Sudan and South Sudan to resolve the region’s security, political and administrative issues to reach  a final solution to the matter.

He called on the African Union and the United Nations to work for the support of the final resolution of the issue and strengthening capabilities of the peacekeeping force in the region in addition to remove all armed elements along with combating manifestations of weapons proliferation and securing its borders in accordance with the decision of the Hague Court of Arbitration and the full commitment of the two countries to implement the Abyei Protocol and the June 20, 2011 agreement.
