The official spokesman for the political process, Khaled Omar Youssef, said in statements yesterday that many meetings are being held today to speed up the outstanding issues, and prepare to face the consequences of delaying the signing of the final agreement and alternative options, starting with a meeting of the “Freedom and Change” coalition alone to develop plans to face all possibilities.
Al-Intibaha newspaper quoted the Forces for the Declaration of Freedom and Change as saying that they are determined to develop alternative options if the political process falters.
On Monday, the heads and leaders of the coalition held a meeting at the headquarters of the National Umma Party, assessing the current political situation, the future of the political process, options for the sustainability of democratic civilian rule and ending the coup.
“The political process remains our preferred option, but if it falters with the obstacles placed by the remnants of thje former regime, we will develop alternative options and every incident has a recent,” the coalition said in a statement after the meeting.
They called on the military component to take the success of the political process as the basis for its unity and to resolve the issues of reform, integration and modernization, within the framework of building a single professional army, in addition to preserving the unity of the regular forces, especially the relationship between the army and the rapid support.
The Alliance for Freedom and Change stressed that the inclusion of civil administrations in plans to obstruct the civil democratic transition will harm their future role, calling on the national and democratic forces in Khartoum State and the states of eastern Sudan to unite and confront the plans of the former regime.
Wajdi Saleh, a leader of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, asserted that the ongoing political process will not achieve its goals, but will lead to the control of the coup leadership over the reins of affairs and the rule of the individual.
Saleh confirmed according to the newspaper (Al-Intibaha ) issued on Tuesday, that the military component will not cede power, whether in the name of the coup or the signing of any political agreement.
He believed that power will be transferred to the leaders of the military component from the presidential palace to the General Command and the guest house.
He stated that the next government will be without powers
