Khartoum, (SUNA) – Sudan and Republic of South Sudan signed yesterday a number of agreements concerning economic and technical arrangements on the field of oil, including technical arrangements related to the transportation, processing and exporting of South Sudan’s crude oil, the arrangements for the crude obtained by Sudan to supply the Um Dabakir power station and Khartoum refinery in addition to financial issues.
The acting Minister of Energy and Oil, Eng. Mohammed Abdullah Mahmoud, said that the agreements have achieved great results and reached advanced stages in preparation for the final agreement between the two countries, describing the talks as smooth and characterized by the spirit of brotherhood .
South Sudan Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, Mayen Wol Jong ,disclosed that the agreements aim to achieve the common interests of the two parties, which enhances the spirit of cooperation for further development and work to increase oil production in the Republic of South Sudan, stressing that the meetings have achieved great successes.
