Al-Yurae- The Forces of Freedom and Change decided to send their first delegations to mobilize regional support for the framework agreement and the political process, on Tuesday, to South Sudan.
The Freedom and Change announced yesterday evening the visit of a delegation to South Sudan, consisting according to the leader of Freedom Change Abla Karrar, Omar Al-Digair Sudanese Congress Party, Mohammed Hassan Arabi Professionals Association, Mohammed Al-Faki Federal Assembly, Maryam Al-Sadiq National Umma Party, Essam Mirghani Sudanese Alliance Party, Sadiq leader of civil society, Yasser Arman Popular Movement Revolutionary Current.
The delegation will meet with Salva Kiir Mayardit and other officials to discuss with them the current political developments in Sudan in the light of the signing of the framework agreement and the final phase of the tripartite process.
On December 5, 2022, political forces and trade union and professional entities, including Freedom and Change, signed a framework agreement with the coup leaders, which is scheduled to be supplemented by a final agreement after consensus on transition issues.
“In order to strengthen the bonds of kinship, culture, history, geography and common interests, a delegation from the coalition leadership will leave Khartoum on Tuesday for Juba, the capital of South Sudan,” said Freedom and Change in its statement.
They pointed out that the visit, which will last for two days, during which the delegation will meet with President Salva Kiir Mayardit and a number of officials of the Government of the State of South Sudan.
The statement added: “The visit aims to communicate with the brothers in the State of South Sudan on the developments of the political situation in Sudan in light of the signing of the framework agreement and the beginning of the final phase of the political process, and to coordinate with the government of the State of South Sudan to contribute effectively to supporting the political process in a way that accelerates the recovery of the path of civil democratic transformation, and enhances the process of rapprochement and integration between the two brotherly countries, which accelerated after the victory of the glorious December revolution.”
Freedom and Change is expected to send delegations to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to rally support for the political process, and it is unlikely that this tour will include Egypt, which decided to organize a conference for remnants and supporters of the military next February in order to undermine the framework agreement.
The signatories to the framework agreement held a conference on the dismantling of the former regime, which came out with many recommendations, as the first event to be held on the issues of the final phase of the political process.
