Forces Deployed in S. Darfur to restore stability in east of state

Nyala- (SUNA) The Security Committee of the State of South Darfur dispatched forces consisting of (57) military vehicles from the Joint Forces to settele the violations and tribal conflict in north-east of the state.

The state’s governor, Hamid Al-Tijani Hanoon, affirmed stability of the security situation in the state in the wake of the bloody tribal violence that took place in the east of the state.

The governor indicated State’s Security Committee continuous meetings, with dispatching and deploying forces enough to resotore security and the state’s prestige, pointing to directives for the Humanitarian Aid Commission to provide urgent humanitarian support to the displaced persons affected by the incidents.

The governor of S. Darfur state indicated continuing efforts of the State’s Security Committee with the native administrations on both sides through the reconciliation mechanism, to communicate with the people in the affected areas for the return of the displaced to their areas.

Meanwhile, the state’s Police Director, Maj.Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Abdullah Al-Zein, noted that a force of 400 personnel arrived to secure the affected areas, chase and arrest the perpetrators, as well as assist civilians in returning to their areas, pointing to this forces arrest of a number of suspects for investigation.

The Director of Police, Rapporteur of the State Security Committee, effectiveness of the emergency order and the curfew in restoring stability area, noting that the law of emergency orders gave the military forces the right to intervene and use force to protect civilians.

He pointed to the directives for the prosecution and police stations in the locality of Beleil to open reports and receive those affected by the incidents, calling on citizens to file criminal reports to preserve their legal rights.

The police director has revealed the death of (9) civilians and two military personnel, one frome the police forces and the other personnel of the Rapit Support Forces resulted from the incidents, who were stoned by protesters, pointing to (18) formerly injured were being treated in Nyala hospitals.
