Khartoum announces arrangements of the delegation in the (COP27) Conference

Al-YuraeKhartoum – (SUNA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Mona Ali Mohamed Mohamed Ahmed chaired today in the hall of the Ministry of Transport the preparatory meeting of the Sudanese delegation participating in the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, hosted by Egypt from 7 to 18 November, in the presence of representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Irrigation, Energy and Transport and a number of experts, specialists and interested parties.
Dr. Mona stressed that the meeting aims to enlighten the conference, organize the delegation of Sudan, coordinate efforts and distribute roles that would support Sudan’s negotiating position and achieve the greatest gains by benefiting from previous expertise and experiences
She explained that Sudan has prepared a Nationally Determined Contributions document containing the requirements of the Paris Agreement on Mitigation and Adaptation Options to Climate Change within the global efforts, calling on the attendees to coordinate and come up with a unified vision on the agenda of the conference, which is to mitigate emissions, adaptation, provide financing, transfer of technology, knowledge and cooperation in this regard.
