Al-Yurae – (Local Media) – The Director General of the Forestry Authority, Anwar Abdel Hamid, revealed a broad plan for the Authority to expand the country’s forest areas through the participation of local communities.
He pointed to arrangements to cultivate one and a half million acres of forest by taking advantage of rainwater and floods in sowing seeds and raising the proportion of forest areas and trees in various states of Sudan.
Abdul Hamid added, to Sudanese Radio, “We are also working in protecting existing forests from encroachment,” pointing to the importance of forests in preserving the environment from the risks of floods and floods, calling on local communities to plant and protect trees.
