Hamidati calls on Moscow to accelerate cooperation in all fields and Russia promises to send companies from next month

Moscow- Al-Yurae-(SUNA) – General Mohammed Hamdan Daqlu (Hamiditi), vice-president of the Council of Sovereignty and leader of the Janjaweed militia in Moscow, met Friday with Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim Mohammed, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Abubakar Omar al-Bashry, Minister of Energy and Oil Mohamed Abdullah Mahmoud, Undersecretary of State in charge of The Ambassador Nader Yusuf al-Tayeb, and The Charge d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Moscow, Ambassador Honor Ahmed Onor.

The meeting discussed the close relations between Sudan and Russia and ways to intensify cooperation in the political, diplomatic and economic fields, and activate the activities of the Sudanese-Russian ministerial committee.

General Mohammed Hamdan Daqlu praised the level of relations and mutual coordination in all international forums, announcing Sudan’s welcome to the seventh session of the Joint Sudanese-Russian Economic Ministerial Committee in Khartoum during the first half of this year to sponsor and refining all aspects of economic and investment cooperation, including electricity, gas, oil and refining. He pointed out the need to accelerate the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the oil ministries of the two countries, which include the areas of training, capacity-building, electricity sector and nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

For his part, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, stressed that Sudan represents a true partner of his country in all fields, pointing to the level of great coordination and cooperation they enjoy, announcing the readiness of his government to activate all previous economic agreements and start sending a number of Russian companies to Sudan next March to see the opportunities for investment.

Hemedti had earlier met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who stressed the depth of Russian-Sudanese relations. He noted that what the two countries have in common is that they are similar in many things, which helped to create extended bonds of friendship based on mutual respect, explaining that his country is aware of the importance of the current developments in the Sudan and is convinced of the ability of the Sudanese to solve their problems, calling for non-interference in Sudanese affairs.

He stressed his country’s keenness to raise the level of cooperation with Sudan in the fields of energy, agriculture, mining and environmental protection.

He explained that Sudan has promising opportunities that will change the reality of the country in the future, calling for the removal of many complications that hinder the flow of Russian investments, including investment laws, pointing to the willingness of Russian companies to start investments in Sudan
